About

The University of Chicago is pleased to invite you to experience the innovation, cutting-edge research, and entrepreneurial activities happening on campus for this year's UChicago Innovation Fest in May 2017.

Highlights will include the 21st anniversary of the Polsky Center’s Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge, a behind-the-scenes look at life as an entrepreneur at the university’s 34,000-square foot Polsky Exchange, special events featuring faculty who are bringing their ideas out of the lab and classroom by commercializing their research, and making groundbreaking advances that transform our society.

History

In 2014, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation created UChicago Innovation Week, a week-long celebration to tie together the various finals competitions of the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge (NVC).

In 2016, a group of innovation partners across campus (see Organizers) came together to brainstorm ways to expand the scope of UChicago Innovation Week to foster more opportunities to celebrate the increasing presence of innovation, exciting new research, and entrepreneurship across campus.

As such, UChicago Innovation Week is now UChicago Innovation Fest and extending its reach to cover the greatest moments of innovation across the entire University.
